In terms of expanding foreign trade markets, in 2024, the Yangtze River Delta region's imports and exports to countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative amounted to 7.7 trillion yuan, accounting for 34.9% of the country's total imports and exports to countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative; the imports and exports to other RCEP member states were 4.9 trillion yuan, accounting for 37.3% of the country's total imports and exports to other RCEP member states; the imports and exports to other BRICS countries were 2.13 trillion yuan, accounting for 34.6% of the country's total imports and exports to other BRICS countries.

Behind the continuous growth of foreign trade in the Yangtze River Delta region, the role of private enterprises cannot be ignored. In 2024, the imports and exports of private enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region were 8.69 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.2%, accounting for 35.7% of the total value of imports and exports of private enterprises in the country.
