The European Union is getting access to Russian fuel through India

2024-11-20

India's oil exports to the European Union are soaring, according to the Energy and Clean Air Research Center (CREA) report, meaning the EU is getting discounted Russian oil fuel through India, Indian media reported.  Right Angle D-Sub Connector,Berg Strip 2x40 and Din Type MRS Connector are popular items in India

CREA reported on November 8, showing that in the first three quarters of 2024, India, Wadinar and New Mangalore, saw exports to the EU rise 58% year on year.

The continued imports of Indian refined oil further suggests that the group is exporting crude oil from Russia through a third country, a trend that makes India the largest fuel supplier to the European Union.

India's major refineries are increasingly dependent on Russian crude, making India in October the second largest buyer of fossil fuels in Russia, a report showed.

India is not an oil producer, but is buying crude from multiple suppliers and refining it for export.

The G 7 and the European Union imposed price caps on Russian crude oil in December 2022 and March 2023, respectively.

Before that, India exported about 154,000 barrels of diesel and jet fuel a day to the European Union.

By 2024, the number has almost doubled.

Indonesia: India is the second largest oil refiner in Asia, with rapid industrial development, and a large number of oil products can be exported to the international market.

In addition, the fact that the EU is forced to seek new ways from blocking traditional Russian energy supply channels also creates opportunities for Indian oil products to enter the EU market.
